Sugar Snap Salad
Our new Sugar Snap Salad has spring all over it … image credit via Caviar

We’ve spent the week marveling over the change in weather (seriously, still not over it), but our coats and sweaters are still out, just in case spring decides to play another switcheroo. The long frost has delayed a lot of our favorite spring produce, but yielded some nice April surprises (like a delayed maple syrup harvest). Fingers crossed for more!

*Passover starts next week, and we can’t wait to make Ruth Reichl’s classic matzo brei recipe (with some of that good natural maple syrup sweetener poured all over it). If you’re over the basic version, the Sussman brothers can help you get funky with it.
*Eagerly anticipating the release of Tim Burton’s next movie, mostly so we can throw a party with these awesome black and white balloons.
*Inspired by Alan Sytsma’s piece revealing the secrets behind Eleven Madison Park’s impeccable hospitality (he calls it “hardcore coddling“).
*If you’re going to bake gluten-free, why not go for items that are naturally flour less (like our coconut macaroons…).
*Finally, someone is making chef coats cool - and comfy. Thank you, Tilit.
